Actor | Print Model | VO Artist

Meet Kate

Hiya! I'm Kate. I'm a SAG-AFTRA actor, voiceover artist, and print model, and -- fun fact -- I love doing things that scare me. Like bungee-jumping off the Victoria Falls bridge in Zambia (twice!), rappelling down 50-foot waterfalls in Maui, and biking 100 miles through the mountains of Colorado. Oh, and acting.

See, for me, acting is not about "putting on" or "pretending" -- it's about stripping away artifice and telling the truth. And as far as I'm concerned, there are few things more terrifying or more thrilling than that (although the bungee jumps come pretty close).

I grew up in Massachusetts, but by the time I graduated from Yale, I'd had enough of New England's oppressive humidity, so I made my way to the drier climes of Colorado. I spent fifteen years in Denver, where I acted for more than a decade in commercials and short films and with some of Colorado's most acclaimed professional theatre companies. And I loved it. Met my darling husband there (he's awesome -- you should check him out)! But I couldn't resist the call of my roots or my family (hi Ma!) so, weather be damned, I eventually moved back.

Since coming home, I've honed my craft in classes at the acclaimed Barrow Group and Kimball Studios, with award-winning coach Matt Newton, and in a year-long foundational training intensive in the Meisner technique. I've booked roles in films (like The Tender Bar, Mother/Android, and the upcoming Boston Strangler); several commercials; and a bunch of network, streaming, and premium cable television shows (including NBC's long-running drama Law & Order: SVU, Showtime's limited series re-boot of Dexter, HBO's Crashing, and a recurring role on HULU's Castle Rock, to name a few).

I love being on the East Coast (interminable Game of Thrones-like winters notwithstanding), and I would love to hear from you (no matter which coast you call home).

Bungee jump (Victoria Falls, Zambia)

Wait -- what?!

Well, hello there! It’s been a VERY busy (non-actory) summer. I’ve been auditioning, but — until recently — hadn’t booked a gig since my work on THE PARENTING (which was amazing and so much fun … even if it *is* a horror film >;-P). But I’ve been busy with family stuff, and though I’ve actually welcomed and really needed the break to focus on that, I am delighted to share that I just wrapped (just today, in fact!) a tiny little part in what I expect is going to be a really lovely film, starring some real giants (cough, cough Tracee Ellis Ross, cough Jeffrey Wright) and written and directed by the very VERY talented Cord Jefferson. It was hard not to fangirl out over all three of those peeps, but I managed to keep it profesh. >;-)

Sooooo it turns out that I am absolute CRAP at sticking to my “no horror” rule. Happy to say I’ve just booked a new horror/comedy film from New Line Cinema. What?! I know, I know — I’m such a hypocrite! But this one feels more “Buffy” than “SAW,” and it’s helmed by the director of one of my favorite movies of the last decade, and it stars a bunch of comedy rock stars, so really — how I could I NOT? Can’t wait to say more about it when I’m able to. Wee!

New year, new everything! If you’ve been here before, you may notice we’ve been doing a little housekeeping and freshening up — new headshots, new project stills, new reel… And if you *haven’t* been here before — welcome! It’s a work in progress, to be sure, but I invite you to take a poke around. And, if you like, drop me a line and lemme know what’s nooz with you. Here’s to better things in 2022!

Genuinely can’t believe I get to say this, but I had TWO movies come out today. Two!! I mean, they’re not *my* movies (duh), but I am in them! And I am very excited! One of them, the George Clooney-directed THE TENDER BAR is out in theaters now, though if you’re (understandably) wary of sitting in one, it will be available to stream on Amazon in January. The other one, MOTHER/ANDROID, stars Chloe Grace Moretz, is streaming only, and you can catch it on Hulu right now. Yeehaw!
